A windshield replacement has a warranty against manufacturing defects and leaks (with the exception of leaks due to vehicle body deterioration), for as long as you own your vehicle. That warranty will expire, when you are no longer the registered owner of the vehicle.

There are factors that might affect the quality of the repair. For instance, how old the chip is, and whether or not there is any glass missing. The outline of the rock chip may be visible but it will be considerably less noticeable.
